I am an International award winning classical guitarist and certified guitar teacher.
My love affair with the guitar began at the age of four thanks to my father, Le Hanh, At the age of five I gave my first public performance in Vietnam under his tutorship.
I passed the entrance examination for the National Conservatory of Music, Hanoi at the age of only seven, making me the youngest ever student to be admitted to this prestigious establishment.
To further enhance and develop my talent, I took master classes with world renowned guitarists such as Manuel Barrueco, Nikita Koshkin, Hubert Kaeppel, Pavel Steidle, Thomas Offermann, Marcin Dylla, Denis Azabagic, Judicael Perroi and Gabriel Bianco.
My passion for guitar has seen me perform solo as well as hosting a series of successful master classes across several continents including North America , UK and Europe, the Middle East and Asia. And of course, I stay close to my cultural roots performing regularly in Vietnam, my beloved country of birth.
In 2018 I performed and held master classes at the prestigious Guitar Federation of America (GFA) convention held in Louisville, USA. In addition I was a performing artist and jury member at the 2018 Alma Hanoi International Guitar Festival. I also perform regularly at the famous Joaquin Rodrigo Guitar Festival in Spain and the renowned International Guitar Festival in Kolkata, India.
Besides my solo career I also collaborate and perform with orchestras, string quartets, vocalists, violinists, flutists and in guitar duo.
Hawaiian "slack key” guitarist
Having never even seen Waikiki, Jim "Kimo” West came right to
Hana, Maui in 1985 and spent much of his time there for many
years. It was in Hana where he first heard the music of Gabby
Pahinui, Sons Of Hawaii, Sonny Chillingworth and Atta
Isaacs. Already familiar with alternate tunings, the sound of ki
ho’alu became his favorite "soundtrack”.
Best known as long-time guitarist for the world?s most successful
musical comedy artist, "Weird Al” Yankovic, Kimo is regarded as
one of the world’s foremost "ki ho’alu” or Hawaiian "slack key” guitar artists and his music has garnered many millions of
streams on Spotify and Pandora.
This warm and engaging fingerpicked guitar style has it’s roots in
1840’s Hawaii, when Mexican vaqueros first brought guitars to
the Big Island of Hawaii. If you saw the Oscar-winning film, "The Decendants” you have experienced this great acoustic
guitar tradition.
Kimo is a 2008 winner of the Hawaii Music Awards and three- time Na Hoku Hanohano (the Hawaiian ‘Grammy’) nominee. He is also a two-time winner of the LA Treasures Award for his efforts in keeping this important acoustic guitar tradition alive. For his work with "Weird Al”, he has earned four Grammy’s and a Billboard #1 CD debut for 2015’s "Mandatory Fun”. He is a veteran of Hawaii’s famed slack key festivals as well as the So Cal Slack Key Festival every year from 2008 through 2018. He has shared the stage with almost all the world’s top slack key players at one time or another. His numerous CD's feature many original compositions as well as inventive arrangements of the genre's classic repertoire. His recent release, "Guitar Stories” goes beyond slack key, exploring other genres like West African guitar, Middle Eastern
Music and Americana."Slackers In Paradise” features duets with slack and steel guitar legend, Ken Emerson and his latest CD, "Moku Maluhia-Peaceful Island” is a mix of "nahenahe” or very relaxing compositions.
Kimo has also worked as a composer for film and TV for many years and maintains a sophisticated private studio in Los Angeles. He has composed music for features films, network TV shows and specials and cable shows. His slack key compositions have been used in a number of features, TV spots, cable, web and in many documentaries.
Lulo Reinhardt, a name associated with World Music and his patented Latin Swing, is a guitar virtuoso with unmistakable roots
He was born in Koblenz on December 10, 1961 and comes from the famous Reinhardt family. Lulo was raised in the Sinti tradition where Django Reinhardt’s music played a massive part.
When he was five, Lulo was already inspired by his father Bawo Reinhardt’s record collection which included everything from Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell to the Shadows. His father was also his first guitar teacher and his mentor until his death in 2013.
Lulo played for twenty years in the family band, The Mike Reinhardt Sextet, starting at twelve as a rhythm guitarist and then later as a bassist until 1993. In 1993, he founded the band I Gitanos together with his father Bawo Reinhardt and Cousin Bavo Dége.
The band enjoyed success, sharing the stage with big names from the 1990s such as TOTO , Marla Glenn and Andreas Vollenweider. In 1995 he played at the 'Rock against Hate' in Lengenau ( Switzerland). The show had an audience of 60,000.
Being proud of their roots, the band recorded three albums in their own language, Romnes.
1994 I Suni
1997 Ab i Raisa
2009 Best of I Gitanos
This is significant, because in addition to the quality of their music, the band also made Sinti and Roma culture accessible to a wider audience. The band continued until Lulo’s father’s death in 2013.
Determined to grow both musically and personally , Lulo founded his own band in 2002: With 'Lulo Reinhardt Project', he would only release his own original compositions –a band that is 99.9 % cover music free, as he likes to put it.
From 2008, the Lulo Reinhardt Project was renamed the 'Lulo Reinhardt Latin Swing Project'.
The discography from this period.

In 2012, a film – NEWO ZIRO – was shot about the Reinhardt family and has since aired numerous times on Phoenix.
After the success of the NEWO ZIRO project, the same team (Krieg & Nolte) shot another film, 'Desert Inspiration', in Morocco in 2015. This time they were exploring the connection between the culture of the Berber and their music in Morocco. The soundtrack by Lulo Reinhardt can also be found on his first solo album of the same title.
In 2017, he recorded a live CD with Daniel Stelter in the Stadtkirche in Darmstadt.
Daniel Stelter, and the NDR Big Band, also accompanied Lulo Reinhardt on his last tour in Europe, until just before Al Jarreau died.
In the same year, Lulo recorded the album ‘Gypsy meets Classic’ with Yuliya Lonskaya, a classical guitarist from Belarus.
A big dream came true in 2017. Lulo Reinhardt visited Calcutta in India, the origin of the Sinti and Roma. There he recorded ‘Gypsy Meets India’ with his friend Debhashish Bhattacharya and his longtime percussionist Uli Krämer. Also involved were Debhashish Bhattacharya’s brother Subhasis on Tabla and daughter Sukanya on vocals.
A film project planned for 2020 will document the migration of the Sinti and Roma from India. Lulo Reinhardt will retrace the way back to India, to where the migration from the Sindh region (India / Pakistan) originated.
A Sinto and a cosmopolitan, Lulo Reinhardt continuously embraces the new and the unknown in his dreams, ideas and plans, so we can expect many exciting projects in the future.
